Mission Chateau receives mixed reviews, highlighting both positive and negative experiences. On the positive side, many residents and their families praise the facility for its beautiful, well-maintained environment and a wide range of activities that promote social engagement. The staff, including leaders like Peaches and Lisa Katz, are often described as friendly, caring, and attentive, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. The dining experience is frequently commended for its high-quality, restaurant-style meals. Several reviewers express satisfaction with the transition process and the supportive community, noting improvements in their loved ones' well-being and social life. Conversely, some reviews criticize Mission Chateau for its lack of responsiveness and communication, particularly regarding follow-ups on concerns. There are complaints about the facility's focus on appearance over resident care, especially as health declines. Issues with memory care services are noted, with claims that the facility only accepts "high functioning" residents and lacks transparency about this policy. Additional costs for amenities and meals are also a concern for some families. A few reviewers mention negative interactions with specific staff members and express dissatisfaction with the facility's handling of certain situations. Overall, while Mission Chateau is appreciated for its aesthetics and community activities, there are concerns about its management and care for residents with advanced needs.

Mission Chateau’s primary focus in independent living. They advertise memory care, but are very selective in who they take and do not have skilled nursing. If you move there with a loved one and eventually need memory care, they will tell you they take only “high functioning” memory care residents. They do not offer continuing life care and at some point your will have to move. If you visit, do your homework on elder care and ask questions. They will not be forthcoming on what they do not offer. Tutera Senior Living has a huge focus on the bottom line and the empathy, love and compassion for the elderly is missing.
