Capstone at SC memory care is NOT a safe place for your loved one with dementia. It has had 3 to 4 exec directors which led to an insecure atmosphere.Enduring the problems there for 19 months was challenging for my husband and me.Problems included inconsistent heat and air, quality of food, and rapid caregiver turnover. They were often shorthanded with agency caregivers and nurses brought in that struggled with their responsibilities including handling medication properly. As my husband’s dementia worsened, he became sometimes combative. The director and nurses at Capstone failed to consult with the house doctor about this. He was on hospice but still sent to Trustpoint psych hospital without my knowledge. When he returned to Capstone, he was unresponsive, lost 10 lbs, had UTI, and bed sores. He died 9 days later. The MC director was unprofessional, rude and showed no compassion. There were a few outstanding caregivers that truly cared & showed God's love to everyone. However, stay away!

I work in the Memory Care Center,,, I absolutely love this place. Even though it’s only been Two weeks, the atmosphere is amazing. This is the cleanest atmosphere I’ve ever worked. The staff here are so awesome. I give them a 10🙌🏼 the resident are so sweet. I really enjoy walking and talking with them. even though they have dementia 🥲you just have to agree, and go alone with the conversation they talk about. one in particularly that stands out she is waiting for her husband that has went to work when I tuck her in for her nap, we make room for her husband in her mind he will be here soon…even tho it breaks my heart, but it’s bittersweet at the same time. I actually had her remember for a short time, trust me it can happen … I’ll come back later for an update. But as of now it’s a awesome place to work for they make you feel very comfortable and you are appreciated.. that’s very important for me.. Cynthia is our boss and she is super sweet💞

This community presents their staff as licensed professionals but in actuality they’ve hired people and young adults to run it under the supervision of a licensed vocational nurse. Sad that sense most people need this care for their love ones that a corporation has come in an made this community the Walmart of elder care. Not all that shines is gold
