My best friend moved to Broadmead 22 yrs ago and is happily independent living there still. After visiting many times, I recommended Broadmead to my parents-in-law and they lived there happily for 10 years in independent care and assisted living. The homes are 1 story on a courtyard with 15-20 "next door neighbors" and people have meetings and socials with them as a "cluster." There is space to garden around your home if you wish, or BM will do it for you. Each apt has its own washer and dryer. The Quaker values at Broadmead are easily evident. Opportunities and transportation to plays and symphonies are available. Residents are humanitarians: retired doctors, librarians, teachers, nurses, and others. I'm moving there this June.
