The Salmon family’s senior living and healthcare communities are the culmination of more than six decades of tradition and innovation, and have earned the trust and confidence of seniors and their families across New England.
The organization has remained family owned and operated since its founding in 1952 by Helen and Daniel Salmon, Sr. When their son Danny, Jr., and his wife Dorothy took the reins in the 1960s, they began the process of building and greatly expanding the scope of services. Today, third-generation family members Matt, Kate and Andrew Salmon are actively involved in the daily operations of the organization’s six campuses.
Over the years, SALMON Health and Retirement has undergone countless, positive transformations in response to the evolving demands of an ever-changing society. Today, the Salmon “family” includes an extensive, growing staff of dedicated and caring professionals whose selfless contributions make it all possible.
In all that time, the Salmon philosophy has never varied. Kate Salmon-Robinson explains: “We respect the privacy, the views and the decisions of the people we serve. We seek and encourage the participation of their families. We acknowledge that each person has a unique history and special qualities. From this respect comes extraordinary compassion and caring, as we strive to help them achieve their best quality of life. And we never lose sight of our most basic responsibility—to treat each individual as we would want to be treated ourselves.”
