My parents lived at PCV for several years in one of the independent living homes and loved their house and their neighbors. In February they had to move into an apartment in 'the big house.' They get all their meals, which are both healthy and delicious, in the dining room, where they enjoy chatting with the other residents. They adore the lady who comes in weekly to clean, change their bed, and wash their linens & towels. They enjoy activities with the other residents. and appreciate the pre-arranged trips to various places throughout the week, so they can get out to do shopping or get to appointments. Mom loves getting her hair done at the beautician's and gets compliments on how nice her hair looks. They miss the freedom of their own home and vehicle, as neither of them can drive anymore, but are grateful for a place where they feel loved and cared for.

My father and mother have been living at Pittsboro Christian Village for several years now. Last month, my father fell and hurt his knee. He was sent to another place to get some rehab to try and get him walking again. He is still not able to walk around on his own. Now Pittsboro home says they will not take him back at their place because he is overweight (250 pounds). This place touts itself as a place with a full spectrum of services and has a care unit for those who cannot take care of themselves. Unbelievable. Horrible place. Do not send loved ones to this facility.
