Kendal at Lexington

Kendal at Lexington is a not-for-profit Lifeplan (formerly called Continuing Care Retirement Community -CCRC) located just one mile from Main Street in Lexington, Virginia. The campus sits on 85 acres of rolling farmland with panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains with colors changing for the four seasons. The community opened in the 2000 and has been accredited by CARF/CCAC since 2009.Kendal at Lexington offers residences consisting of apartments and cottages ranging from 550 to 2000 square feet with garages. All residences have fully-equipped kitchens, washers and dryers, window treatments, hardwood floors or carpeting, ADA-accessible bathrooms, private patios, balconies or sunrooms, and individually controlled heating and cooling. Residents enjoy an array of amenities including heated indoor swimming pool, fitness center, wellness clinic, library, woodworking shop, art room, nature trails, meeting rooms, dining room and Restaurant and common spaces. The restored, historic Sunnyside House, circa 1800, serves as a guest house for visitors and an entertainment and meeting venue for residents. The community also features the Webster Assisted Living apartments and Benjamin Borden Health Care Center directly on campus.Kendal at Lexington supports an environment that satisfies the emotional, physical, intellectual, cultural, social and spiritual needs of those who reside here. Kendal’s other communities are in Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Ohio, Maryland and Illinois.Residents enter into a continuing care agreement (contract) with Kendal at Lexington by paying a one-time entry fee and ongoing monthly fees that cover a residence, services and amenities (listed below), and a comprehensive package of health care services including long-term care for the rest of their lives.Kendal at Lexington offers a choice of agreements: an Extensive Life Care Agreement (also referred to as a “Type A” Contract) and two Modified Agreements (also referred to as “Type B” contracts). All include the right of occupancy in the apartment or cottage for the resident’s lifetime as long as they can safely occupy it, and a package of services, amenities and health care. All include unlimited assisted living care in the Webster Center as needed; each includes a component of licensed skilled nursing care in the Benjamin Borden Health Center
