my mother-in-law was at a skilled nursing facility for three weeks recovering from a broken leg. it was terrible. when she was transferred to Emerald Oaks, i spent about two hours at lunch time and about two hours at dinner feeding my wife's mother. because of the terrible care before, i paid very close attention to what the care givers were doing in nearby rooms and in the hallway. i no longer worry because the care is great. also, i have observed and heard many extremely caring workers interacting with the patients. also, the management is super nice and reacts to needs of the patients and concerns of loved ones. i once spoke with a hospice nurse who told me Emerald Oaks is where she would put her mother if needed. i can not speak highly enough for the management and caregivers . several have told me that they feel as though the residents are family to them and they care greatly for them

I have had my father at Emerald Oaks for the past two years now. He came from his own home prior and I thought the transition would be so much harder than how it ended up being. Since being at Emerald Oaks his quality of life has actually improved. He now participates in activities and has friends that he socializes with daily instead of keeping to himself like before, only watching television and sleeping. The staff at the facility are always nice. All of the staff members are familiar with my dad and know my family by name. It is a very warm environment.

Had scheduled a visit and yet the staff can’t get it together enough to decide whether or not the residents can have visits or not. They fail to communicate to any loved ones in regards to the very basic care and refuse to allow visits - more than twice now!!! Idk if this isolation is because the care is substandard or if their simply admitting to such act in hopes of gaining the attention it needs
