I would not put my mom in Ellery Arbor if I had it to do over again. There is a severe lack of communication. The four directors we had over four years were not able to affect long-term change. The facility needs new furniture, paint, and carpet. It seemed to me that the parent company, Sagora, cared more about profit and less about the experience of the residents and families. There was a stark contrast between the marketing and the actual resident living situation. The employees did not seem to be happy to be there, either. The activities were great, but the care and cleanliness were lacking. Grievances and problems for us were usually met with platitudes and not real solutions. Call your local hospice providers and ask them where they would put their loved one. Go to a resident council meeting and find out what the other residents and family members really think. Observe how the staff treat other residents when management isn't around. There are a lot of options nearby
