The new senior behavioral health hospital is the worst experience we have ever had! My dad was upset about finding out his diognosis of alzheimers/dementia would not allow him to live alone any longer. As very common with these types of situations he lashed out at me, his daughter who he set up as his POA yrs. Ago. This hospital did a terrible job keeping me informed of his care & then cut me off entirely from contact with the drs. & even the social workers. They are now using A false APS financial claim as an excuse to hold him against his will. He only transferred here due to st. Joe hospital was full when he was taken there for some chest pain. We are now having to get an Attorney to& get him out! This behavioral unit is very institutional, with nothing but a hospital bed in the rooms! No T.V. no clock, no pictures&no privacy at all, full camera surveillance even in the rooms. It is very much like visiting someone in prison, you have to leave EVERYTHING in a locker before going in.
