When my father was recently in need of care and treatment in a skilled facility, my mother, myself, and one of my sisters visited several nursing homes in the Northern RI area. We selected Crystal lake based on cleanliness, warmth and professionalism of the staff to whom we were introduced, and the administrator's availability to answer questions prior to my father's placement there. We were also impressed with the effort that had been made to create an aesthetically pleasing environment, thinking this might be a reflection of the level of care provided. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing mental health services to nursing home residents (in another state), I have a frame of reference with which to evaluate the quality of care my father received at Crystal lake . And during the months my father was there, what my family and I observed was above and beyond anything we could have possibly expected or hoped for. First and foremost, the dedication and professionalism of the staff were exemplary. The CNAs treated my father with the utmost kindness and respect. The nurses were proactive and responsive, as were the nursing supervisors, who maintained excellent communication with our family. The Rehab department was dedicated and provided personalized treatment.The administrator was visible, highly involved with the operation of the facility, and continued to be accessible to our family throughout my father's stay.. We are beyond grateful to the many wonderful individuals who provided such loving care to my father and we cannot say enough about the excellence of this facility.
