What families are saying

The reviews for senior living communities in San Francisco, particularly The Ivy at Golden Gate and Cypress, present a mixed picture. Many reviewers praise the facilities for their cleanliness, friendly and caring staff, and a wide range of activities and amenities. The Ivy at Golden Gate is noted for its welcoming atmosphere, attentive staff, and excellent meals, with some residents experiencing improved health due to the community's offerings. The location is often highlighted as a significant advantage, despite the high costs associated with living there. Cypress receives commendations for its proactive COVID-19 measures, professional yet warm staff, and seamless integration with hospice care. The facility is described as clean, modern, and offering a strong sense of community. However, some reviews mention challenges, such as understaffing, management turnover, and difficulties in coordinating care, which have led to dissatisfaction and the decision to move residents elsewhere. Both communities are appreciated for their beautiful environments and the variety of activities available, including outings and special events. However, the high cost of living and occasional lapses in service, such as slow kitchen service or inadequate coordination with pharmacies, are noted concerns. Overall, while many residents and their families have positive experiences, some face significant challenges, particularly regarding communication and the consistency of care.

Really the best nursing home in San Francisco. The ivy at golden gate is better than those new ones like the Frank Residences or Coterie. This facility has been around a long time with a lot of care staff having been there for years.
