So disappointed in the Senior Management with The Bridge @ Longmont. Within two hours of signing the lease for my mother’s assisted living apartment and set to move her in the following day, the Executive Director denied her residency. She never took the time to meet nor speak directly with my mom or family to discuss any concerns with welcoming her to The Bridge. While pleading with the Executive Director over the phone for a reason for her sudden and last-minute reversal, I learned her misinformed and misguided decision was based solely on a nurse’s -- not associated with the facility -- brief and stressful visit with my mother. The “nurse” didn’t have the decency to say Goodbye when he was finished and got up from the table and walked out the door when he was done! The Executive Director would not reconsider her decision even after another fully qualified nurse and the Bridge’s own Sales Manager, both of whom spent an hour with my mom on separate occasions, acknowledged to the Director that she would be a good fit for the assisted living community. The management's lack of compassion, disregard for the extreme emotional strain placed on my family, and insincere “I’m so sorry” still infuriates me to this day. When the Sales Manager first mentioned to me that the Executive Director has been at the Bridge since day one (25+ years) – apparently, a rarity -- my gut reaction was not impressed. I was unsure why I had this feeling, but after the horrific treatment and her arrogance in saying, “this is my decision, and my decision is final, period!” I understood my intuitive feelings. She has become complacent in her managerial position, uncaring for those truly in need, and content with the emotional scars inflicted upon a family at their height of despair. I hope no other family goes through a similar eleventh-hour kick to the curb. Perhaps one day, the Bridge at Longmont will hire a sympathetic and compassionate Executive Director. Forgiven but not Forgotten!
