We are moving my mother-in-law after just one year of residence. Rates have gone up 3 times and not because she required more care. Every face but 1 or 2 is a new one. There has been countless turnover of staff. While our expectations were met when we first moved in, we feel The Oaks has really taken a turn for the worse in the last few months. The staff we've encountered have all been very nice, but there is a lack of training and just a feeling of slovenliness lately. If you do not plan to visit your loved one every week or two, this is not the place I'd put mine. Clothes are missplaced after washing. Cleanliness of residents' rooms is not the top priority that it should be. I am speaking from personal experience with feces, filthy carpets where loved ones were not contacted nor was any urgency given by the director to have the problem rectified.

The turnover with employees is at a medium level; dietary needs are (in my opinion) not met; residents seem to be well taken care of; surroundings of public gatherings are very nice; manager is excellent at defusing problematic situations. Residents are encouraged to take an active part in the activities. Price ranges from minimum needs of care to full range of care. I think this is the best assisted living home in Granbury that accepts all levels of assistance.
