My mother lived here for five months until she died. It took some adjustment for her as she was a very independent woman until she fractured a hip and needed assistance. The staff was helpful and friendly. It took time for mom to get used to staff entering and exiting her room. As a family, we did not like the cafeteria arrangement. We were not allowed to sit with our mother for an occasional meal, she had to eat alone or with strangers from the facility. Families who spent generations at a family table will find this rule unusual and even cruel. As our mother’s condition worsened, the staff was there to help with her hospice. Eventually she passed and we were told we would need to clear her room ASAP to avoid further charges; be ready to answer that challenge. Also, don’t be shocked when management hands you a finalized bill on your loved ones death day, that’s what we experienced, a reminder that it’s a business after all.
