Some personnel are kind and skilled but there is a lot of turn over and only a skeleton staff at night. Food is problematic- dishes are given gourmet names but not prepared well. Food is undercooked or overcooked and often unhealthy for elderly people with conditions like heart disease, diabetes or cancer. There is a sole healthy option of chicken but that’s it. Many meal items are from a can, processed and unhealthy. They push ice cream and cake. They sometimes ration popular dishes or run out. As a result meals are bread and butter back in the room. Another issue is the facility itself. It’s beautifully decorated but not with seniors in mind. Abstract repetitive art-confuses residents.Seats are too low or deep and there isn’t a space other than the cold, crowded lobby for monthly music nights. Fire dept calls & water shut offs. The Bristal is quite expensive to live in and corp management must do better.
