My Mother has been living in one of the independent-living apartments for seven years and is very happy here. They keep the grounds landscaping looking nice year around. Any time she needs anything, even a light bulb in the ceiling changed, they will take care of it. The difficulty is however, no one answers the phone anymore. Now whe we call its a phone tree and leaving a message. After that it can take a few days to get a response. Fortunately we haven't had anything urgent come up. She has another number to call in case of emergencies. Otherwise, she loves her home here at St. Anthony Village.

I felt many caregivers were not properly trained to transfer residents. There is a rule that only one person transfer is acceptable. Although I never needed more than one person I felt extreme pressure to move from the facility. I had caregivers try to transfer me by pulling on one leg, one arm etc., improper use of gate belt. I must say there are many food choices! Activities are interesting and varied. Housekeeping was good. Staff is friendly and helpful.

In a day and age when most Senior Living communities are owned by REITs and managed to tight budgets, Touchmark continues to be owner-operated after 40+ years in the industry. The community setting is peacefully placed on the top of the West Hills, looking west towards the coastal mountains. The team of staff is incredible and seems to share the same values as the residents they are serving. My favorite part of this community is the nature trails they have carved through the hills. It makes for a great morning walk or place to sit and read a book.

St Anthony's Village is very well priced. The staff do care and are good people. That being said, they drop the ball all the time. When there is a lockdown for a COVID case, they don't notify families. When residents are not allowed in the dining room, they do not notify families. Even after 3 weeks of isolation for elderly residents with memory issues, they do not notify families. Conference calls are supposed to be every quarter but we were lucky to have one once a year. They don't return phone calls. They do not make sure residents laundry gets done... ever. They don't answer at the front desk most times as the person is always attending to residents who may need assistance. Impossible to reach anyone there most hours of most days.
